Master of Social Change and Development
Tomoe Taira, Japan
Universities in Australia are very strong in Asia-Pacific studies and UOW offers a graduate course which best suits my interests. In Wollongong I can enjoy exchanging experiences and ideas with people from different backgrounds. In the future I would like to work in community and social development for an international non-government organisation or the United Nations.

Bachelor of Arts
Ikue Hatakeyama (Date Graduated: December 2002)
The University of Wollongong....It inspired me and had a great impact on my life!
Wollongong is a city which combines the gentle harmony of nature and people. You will see beautiful beaches and a clear blue sky almost everyday! The beautiful view will certainly relieve the weariness of your studies!
The best feature of my course (Bachelor of Arts) is that there are few Asian students(About 85% are Australians or Americans). It will give you more opportunity to practice a conversing with native English speakers. In addition, professors might ask you about Japanese examples in a class, so it is a chance to explain and get to know more about Japan itself!
If you are worried about your English skills, there is a help service at UOW (called Learning Development), and there is also an English language college before entering to UOW for brushing up your English skills! The staffs in the Faculty are very kind and will give you helpful advice.
I would recommend that you study at the University of Wollongong because I am sure that you will enjoy your wonderful campus life with lots of friends
from all over the world!
Master of Science (Midwifery)

I chose to study at UOW because of the natural environment and great educational system. Everyday living is much cheaper than at home. I have been able to learn different study skills, such as critical thinking, as well as make many friends and improve my English skills. I recommend studying at Wollongong because there is a good student support system, scholarship opportunities, fabulous teachers and a beautiful campus.
